  Dr. Pilkington was wonderful to me. He is very good at listening and he definitely cares about his patients. I once ran out of medicine for gerd when it was a weekend and he had my script filled immediately. I would recommend him in a heaetbeat to anyone who has gastrointestinal problems. He is a great surgeon and doctor.

  I originally saw Dr. Pilkington for a "routine" hernia surgery and today, nearly two years later, I still have chronic pain in my abdomen. I have been unable to work for months on end as the pain has gotten worse instead of better. When I finally saw Dr. Pilkington to tell him about my pain, over a year had passed. I had missed work and spent time in the emergency room due to the pain brought on by his surgery. However, during the appointment he seemed disinterested and even took a cell phone call midway through what turned out to be probably a five minute converstation. He suggested that I try taking aspirin as though I hadn't thought of that on my own and quickly rushed me out of his office. He showed no empathy whatsoever and his demeanor suggested I had insulted him by implying his "successful" surgery left me in pain. When I asked if there were any other options, he simply said "no". A doctor's first priority should be the well-being of his patients, while in Dr. Pilkington's case, it is barely an afterthought. Another very important note when seeing Dr. Pilkington, be sure your insurance is reliable and up-to-date, as mine was not (parent's coverage expired). Upon discovering this, Dr. Pilkington's office cancelled my appointments and refused to see me for even a simple follow-up appointment until over a year later when I was able to regain health insurance. Don't go to Dr. Pilkington if you want a doctor who cares about his patients.
